Right of Withdrawal
Version of 15 September 2026 · applies to paid purchases in the Android app “JouleVerne” (7-day pass and annual subscription)
The framed text is the model instructions on withdrawal, Annex I(A) of Directive 2011/83/EU, with completion instruction 1(a) applied (digital content not supplied on a tangible medium). Under Article 6(4) of the Directive the information duty is deemed fulfilled where this model is supplied correctly filled in — therefore the wording must not be changed. Our own explanations are kept outside the frame. This English version is used for Ireland and for all markets where the store listing is English only; the governing law remains that of the consumer’s country of residence.
In short: Purchases in JouleVerne are processed through Google Play. During checkout, Google obtains your express consent for performance to begin immediately and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. Where this happens, the right of withdrawal expires early — see the final section below.
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us

E-mail: info@jouleverne.com
of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or e-mail). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
Early expiry of the right of withdrawal
In the case of a contract for the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium, your right of withdrawal expires where we have begun performance of the contract after you have given your prior express consent to performance beginning before the end of the withdrawal period, you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, and we have provided you with a confirmation of the contract.

Practical notes
Why the right of withdrawal has usually already expired
JouleVerne makes the purchased access available immediately after purchase. Google Play therefore asks during checkout whether performance should begin at once and has you confirm that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. Google then sends you a purchase confirmation by e-mail. Where these steps have been completed, the right of withdrawal has expired under the conditions set out above.
Refunds are processed by Google
All purchases in JouleVerne are processed by Google. We receive neither your payment details nor your name or postal address. A refund is therefore carried out through your Google account. You may also request a refund directly from Google Play at any time; independently of that, you are welcome to contact us.
Cancelling the annual subscription
You can cancel a running subscription in your Google account under “Payments and subscriptions”. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid term; access remains available until then. Cancellation is distinct from withdrawal and is not subject to the periods above.
Online dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
